1.9 – Club Soda

Marisa awoke the next day and started working on her new book while Nathan continued to graft and work on his garden. Ever since their discussion about home, Marisa knew exactly what she wanted to write and had decided to make it a fictional novel about a girl finding her home in an unwelcoming society.

She had that light bulb above her head!

She has that light bulb above her head!

Marisa soon was joined by Nathan, who had a calm expression on his face. Marisa knew that if Nathan’s face was ever calm, she knew that he had something important that he wanted to say to her.

“Hi Nathan!” Marisa said as Nathan came closer.

“Hey Marisa! We haven’t had a chance to talk today since you’ve been busy with your book.” Nathan commented while he gestured his hands outwards.

“True. Maybe we can do something later?” Marisa suggested, and Nathan nodded soon afterwards.

“Yeah, that’ll be brilliant since I have something important to tell you! It’s about our relationship.” Nathan mentioned and Marisa froze as all of the worst thoughts came to mind.

“Do you… want a divorce?!” Marisa screamed as she brought her hands to her mouth, shocked at the words that she had uttered.

Anyone would think that she would have been accused of murder!

Anyone would think that she would have been accused of murder!

“No! Never! It’s something else I wanted to talk to you about, I need your opinion on it.” Nathan replied and Marisa exhaled deeply, she was relieved that it hadn’t come to that and that it hopefully never will.

Nathan laughed at the fact that Marisa thought it was going to be about divorce, and Marisa became embarrassed.

“I love you and you know that!” Nathan told Marisa and she nodded, reassuring herself. Nathan smiled at Marisa as he knew what he wanted to say next, and hopefully it would cheer her up even more!

“Let’s go on a date!” He ordered.

Marisa didn’t hesitate to agree as the both of them soon left their home and travelled over to the nearest club that was in Willow Creek. As they arrived, they smiled brightly as their latest date had started to begin.

Get closer!

Get closer!

Nathan and Marisa walked into the club, where they searched for a free table, since the club was full! They managed to find a table right at the back of the club, which they then went and sat down at. After ordering a couple of drinks, Marisa looked at Nathan with curiosity in her eye.

“So, what did you want to talk about?” Marisa smiled as she gestured her hand to the side.

Nathan smiled as he looked at Marisa, “I think we shouldn’t have a child… just yet.”

Marisa looked at Nathan with surprise, she wondered where in the world did the talk of children come from.

“What are you even talking about? I never wanted children yet either!” Marisa exclaimed.

“Really? That’s great then! But, there’s something I’d like to suggest to you, which you may or may not like.” Nathan led onto explaining as Marisa nodded. She wondered what Nathan was going to suggest, and Nathan thought that he was leading Marisa in the right direction.

Oh, look! It's the explaining hands!

Oh, look! It’s the explaining hands!

“I think we should wait until the end of our Young Adult stage and take a Potion of Youth.” Nathan began before lowering his voice, the use of Potions of Youth were very rare and were commonly wanted by everyone, “My parents gave me a recipe on how to make them.”

“Woah really?!” Marisa was surprised at this knowledge, and she was quick to agree to the suggestion. Nathan was so happy that Marisa agreed.

“Yes, but shh. Don’t tell anyone!” Nathan said and Marisa nodded her head.

“So, what gender are you hoping for, when we do make a baby Nathan?” Marisa wondered and Nathan answered the question pretty quickly.

“Easy, I want a girl. Since each generation’s heir will be the opposite gender. I’m very fair about equality.” Nathan complimented himself before Marisa rolled her eyes.

“Ooh, I love girls! But, if the child comes out as a sim with alien skin colours, I easily have a fix for that. I want our child to be as human as possible!” Marisa smiled as she waved at Nathan.

Oh my...

Oh my…

“Mr. Devine, would you do me the honor of dancing with me?” Marisa asked politely and Nathan laughed.

“I would love to, Mrs. Devine!” Nathan answered as he took Marisa’s hand and led her onto the dance floor. Several songs played as Marisa and Nathan danced together through the night.

Marisa soon took a courageous step as Nathan and her were dancing to a slow song as she grabbed his face and kissed him!

"I think I'm going to fall over...!"

“I think I’m going to fall over…!”

Oh Nathan… not again. After that, the both of them separated as Marisa went to catch up with a fellow alien that didn’t hate her for her choice and chose the same choice as she did! Meanwhile, Nathan decided to converse with the people who were dancing around the club as well.

Wait... WHAT IS HE DOING THERE? How did he sneak into this save game?!

Wait… WHAT IS HE DOING THERE? How did he sneak into this save game?!

In the end, Nathan and Marisa made a very wise decision for the future of the legacy!

I think it’s really a good strategy to use youth potion with the first generation! It’s so tough to get started, and they can use the extra time to build up finances and make progress on careers and aspirations.

Oooh, I’ve recently started doing the same with youth potions. I just hate rushing them to kids or having them pass away when their kids are still teens.

I’m glad they had this discussion, but wow, did she spjump to the wrong first conclusion?! Divorce? Never.
