Y1 – The Student Head

“What you’re trying to say is that Gabrielle didn’t do the dishes yesterday like she was supposed to?” I asked everyone.

We were called into a Greenwood Gathering by Bobbi, who had been disgusted by the sloppyness of some of the other dorm mates. I would agree with her as well because our Dean keeps sneaking down and drinking hamburgers after putting them in the blender, and she never cleans up!

“No, she doesn’t.” Bobbi spoke up and I thought about it. Was I unconsciously voted the student head of this dorm or something? Why am I sorting out everyone’s problems? I have my own problems to deal with.

“How about we elect a Student head of the dorm. Someone who’ll help us with our problems.” I suggested to everyone, and they murmured in agreement.

“I elect myself to be Student Head.” Piper sniggered with confidence.

“Of course you would.” Adelaide whispered, but everyone heard it and looked at her. Adelaide immediately looked away afterwards.

“No! I feel that I could bring a lot to this dorm. Wild Parties, amazing pranks and even a no plumnuggets allowed sign!” Piper clapped for herself, and was the only one to clap for herself until she gave Neil an evil glare and then he started to clap too.

“I elect Noah.” Adelaide immediately interjected afterwards, and sniggered behind Piper’s back.

“So, it’s currently Piper at one vote, and myself at one vote. Bobbi, who do you vote for?” I looked over at Bobbi, who seemed to be in deep thought.

“Well, I don’t want Piper to be Student Head because she’s simply a woofum in the nicest way possible. Adelaide’s too timid. Gabrielle looks like she’s the spawn of the evil Plumbob. Neil is… Neil and Noah… You’re okay. But, the only qualified person here is clearly me. So, I vote for myself.” Bobbi threw the shade at everyone but me. The plum had just got real.

“HEY YOU–“ Piper started to scream but Bobbi looked to Gabrielle.

“What about you? What’s your vote?” Bobbi asked Gabrielle, who seemed too busy on her phone to actually answer the question.

“I vote Bobbi, of course.” Gabrielle smiled at her phone, I wonder what happened on her phone!

“I guess that’s now Piper at one, Noah at one and myself at two. Neil, who do you pick?” Bobbi smiled in the cutest way possible over at Neil. Neil told me that he had never really taken part in any major elections before, but I could tell he was determined to make the best, educated choice.

“Well, there’s a lot of good–great options and it’s hard to pick someone. But, I’m going to pick the best option for us and that’s Noah.” Oh great, another vote for me. Although, it wouldn’t be bad to be Student Head but I had an even better idea. I stood up infront of everyone as I spoke out my first words as Student Head.

“Okay, I vote for myself. My first and last act as Student Head is to make Adelaide Gibson the Student Head. No questions and no declining. That is all.” I smiled as I sat down as a normal university student again.

“WHAT?!” Piper and Bobbi screamed at me.

“Psh, it’s not like it’s going to someone who’s not qualified! Adelaide knows what she’s doing.” I explained and Piper shook her head.

“She’s too timid and terrified to do anything for herself!” Piper complained and I looked at Adelaide who had just sat there with her hands on her knees. She was waiting for this entire thing to be over. “Come on. For me, make me Student Head.”

“No! He’s making me Student Head! Aren’t you, Noah?” Bobbi asked me and that’s when Piper and Bobbi started to shout at each other about me picking them. It soon turned horrid when curse words were being thrown left and right.

“ENOUGH!” I shouted which frightened everyone. Great! “Adelaide is staying as Student Head. Any complaints, you come to me. Adelaide will be able to talk to everyone and by the end of this year, she will no longer be timid or shy. She will be a lovely, outgoing person who can solve problems by herself.”

I looked over and smiled at Adelaide, who seemed to be busy looking up at the ceiling to avoid some dirty glances being thrown at her.

“The… first… Greenwood Gathering is… over.” Adelaide spoke slowly as everyone started to get up from their seats. Some where happy and some where angry. Although, I have a lot of confidence in Adelaide that she’ll be able to do it and I’m going to help her every step of the way.

Tomorrow, I’m going to become her best friend.
