Versatile Blogger Award

the-versatile-blogger-award

I have been nominated for the Versatile Blogger Award by Jes2G! I’m so thankful and honoured that I have been nominated for this award. Jes2G is an awesome SimLit Writer who writes the Pruett Family Legacy, which details an Epic Saga which is about to end! I still have to catch up (don’t hurt me!), but I bet there’s a lot of fun moments in there!

As always, here are the rules of receiving the award!

  1. Thank the person who gave you this award
  2. Include a link to their blog.
  3. Next, nominate 5 blogs that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly for the Versatile Blogger Award.
  4. Finally, tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.

Right, time to nominate the five blogs for the award! This is going to be slightly hard, but I think I already know who I’m going to pick! They are…

  1. CathyTea
  2. Julyvee94
  3. BBQPenguinWings
  4. ARoseInBloom
  5. Anyone else!

If you’ve stayed this far just to find out the seven things about myself, congratulations, you’re awesome! Here are seven things about myself that you probably don’t know about me!

  1. I’m allergic to something, but the doctors never found out what! When I was little, I swelled up like a big melon and I was taken to the hospital but no matter what they tested on me, they couldn’t find the allergy!
  2. I’m very emotional! (RoryGilmore34 can tell you!)
  3. I am an avid gamer of other games, including Minecraft and Elder Scrolls Online.
  4. Fudge, Vanilla and Caramel are my favourite flavours of most things. However, Red Velvet Cake takes the steal for the cake section!
  5. I am obsessed with room décor, I literally dream of different room designs.
  6. I can’t stop coming up with ideas, it’s both a blessing and a curse. I have too many story ideas that I could probably be fine for stories until The Sims 5 comes out!
  7. I have decided to have a journal filled with diary entries of 2016, since I’m turning 16 this year! (I think I want to do one of these for when I turn 18, 21, 30, 40 and so on. Or, maybe I can do one every year!)

Hello! It’s Me!

(sorry for the bad Adele reference)

Hi! I’ll be returning from my story posting hiatus on Monday, but I wanted to fill you guys in on what’s going to be happening on my blog and in other places! First of all, postings on all of my current stories shall continue from the 4th of January, and My Lovely Housemates shall start on the 14th of January!

I’m hoping for my posting Schedule to go as follows;

Monday – The Devine Family Legacy
Tuesday – The Devine Family Legacy
Wednesday – The Devine Family Legacy
Thursday – My Lovely Housemates
Friday – My Lovely Housemates, Rocky Road
Saturday – Greenwood Dormitory
Sunday – Greenwood Dormitory

If it doesn’t, oh well! I’ll try my best to stick by it.

Moving on, my one year blogversary is coming up! I started my WordPress Blog on January 16th 2015, but I posted my first ever chapter on January 18th, which I’m going to class as my blogversary! I’ve got a special post planned but I also want to have a party in game, which I’ll probably post pictures of on my blog and caption them. If you want any simselves/sims to attend the party, just comment down below with your Origin ID and who I shall pick up!

Also, because it’s my blogversary, I want to host a little read-a-thon of my very first story, The Wonder Child! This is going to be a bit exciting for me, since this is the first ‘event’ that I’m hosting, but I do want this to go quite well! It will last from the 18th of January to the 7th of February, which makes time for 2 chapters to be read per day. Of course, you can read at your own pace if you want!

Hopefully, I’ll have a thread on the forums set up nearer to the time where we can talk and discuss about the chapters and such and I’ll also be explaining stuff that happened behind the scenes! Hopefully you’ll be able to join!

I think that’s everything! See you soon!

Purple Day – A Remembrance into Sims Past.

So today, December 1st, is Purple Day. Purple Day is when all simmers think about Sims past who have died and we take this day as an opportunity to remember them for all of their glory and all of their amazingness. Although I’ve had many sim deaths since I started to play the Sims since TS2, the first death that really affected me was Orion’s death, the father of my Wonder Child.

04-06-15_2-07 AM

(Remind me to edit this photos xD)

Orion’s death was so sudden, but it was expected. He was saved from that awful 1×1 Pool which I will NEVER buy again for my sims, but it would make a very awesome Hunger Games idea… MOVING ON. Leliana had just gotten out of an argument with a liar and then Orion decided to drop down dead, which hurt me so much. Orion was one of my favourite sims at that time, his quirkness and wit definitely made me laugh a lot, and he always smiled no matter what.

But with his death, I questioned myself. How could I grow attached to a sim this much? When he died, why did I feel such an emptiness inside me for a short while?

I didn’t know the answer yet, but when after a short while, Athena dropped down dead. I confirmed it for certain, somewhere as we play our sims, we become attached and we laugh as they do the funniest things. But, as they age up we realise that their life does continue (unless you have aging off) and even though their life seems like it’ll last forever, they’re always one step closer to that grave.

13-04-11-15_6-16 PM

Athena was a badass female sim with a lot of sass. She always seemed to tell Orion what’s what and not let her children do anything too drastic. She was an awesome sim because she always knew what was best for her family, and she tirelessly worked to see that her daughter and both of her sons were catered to the best of their needs.

And so, do I miss Orion and Athena? Of course! But, I probably wouldn’t go back to an older save and play them again. I still have them in my gallery so I’d probably play another save with them if I wanted too. Although, I still have my Frenlore Build Newcrest story with Alistair Frenlore that should be starting early next year.

HOWEVER, there’s one more thing I have to address. Even though we’re looking at sims who have passed, we also need to look at the sims in our present and future. Leliana is now happily married and Demetri and Alistair… well, that’ll be for me to disclose at a later date.

In my Devine Story, Nathan and Marisa have now become Elders, and it only reminds me that it’ll be time for them to leave soon, and then my cycle of emotion will start again with how attached I’ve become to the two of them.

But, I will always see the sims that have passed within other relatives at certain points, like June looks like her father and Leliana inherited her father’s brains.

Our sims may have passed away from the world, but they will never pass away from our hearts.

Liebster Award 2.0

image

(I should warn you, this is long! But, if you want to know A LOT more about me, read on!)

Well! Since the last time I posted my Liebster Award post, I’ve been nominated THREE more times for a Liebster Award! I am truly honoured to be nominated for this award once again, it’s so encouraging to know that people love what I’m writing! Now, I’ve been wondering whether I should nominate people once more, and I think I am because thanks to the Book Club, I’ve discovered so many new stories and I think they deserve this award too!

But, before I get to my nominations, I’d like to thank my nominators for giving me this award. First of all, I’d like to say thank you to RoryGilmore34, who is an amazing writer and an amazing friend and her story, Legacies of the Sims is so awesome! I’d also like to thank RoryGilmore34 with helping me with Rocky Road as well, her contributions have really helped shape my story to the way it is! (Hehehe)

Secondly, I’d like to thank my brand new friend, iheartdinosx3. She popped up to me in a PM and told me that she wanted to nominate me and that she loved my legacy! It was so amazing to hear that and I’m thankful that she nominated me for this award as well.

My final nominator, JordanNicoleJJ, she is AMAZING. Apart from her awesome legacies and other stories which I’ve only heard amazing things of, her witty remarks and amazing opinions on certain EA things really make her an awesome person! If you’re not reading her stories, you better be making your way there now!

Thank you ❤

Now, I have to choose 5-11 nominees who I feel deserve this award! Well, here we go!

The Bloomer Legacy by ThePlumbob
The Bloomer Legacy is a Build Newcrest Challenge and the first one of it’s kind that I’ve read! And, it’s quite magical. I love how the story is set up and the way that the family dynamics work as well, the storylines are amazing and they manage to integrate themselves beautifully with the challenge! I haven’t caught up fully yet, but I know that there’s a lot of great things ahead of me!

Project L.E.G.A.C.Y by eXokamizaze
This story is like WOW, AWESOME and PERFECT all mixed together into one word so… WAWESOMECT! (Waw-some-ect) Project Love, Empathise, Grow and Love Yourself is a brand new take on the Legacy Challenge as we follow Alondra Oinkday, an alien on her adventure of discovering what humans are like. This story is so funny and just so perfect!

Derelict by ra3rei
Derelict is a Room Challenge, and an interesting one at that. We follow Amelia Echo on her journey in a ship and the mystery about what happened before this story started. This story is a very interesting read as we slowly discover more and more things about Amelia and also the mysterious crew that has disappeared.

Ironbound by Munterbacon
THIS STORY MAN. I LOVE this story! It’s a mixture of sci-fi and fantasy into one hybrid story that I love to bits. We follow Shaela,  a Helsian warrior who is best friends with the Princess Leyva of her people’s enemy. As the story goes on, there is more things that are uncovered which changes the story entirely. I can’t say more without getting spoilery, but this story is really wawesomect.

Freedom Family Legacy by BabyDollAnne
Drama, drama, drama! There is a lot of exciting drama in the Freedom Family Legacy and there is a lot of people to love and to hate. I love this story because there are a lot of cliffhangers and also the way this story is set out, it’s like I’m actually watching a drama television show!

I’ll now answer the questions left to me by my nominators! 😀

RoryGilmore34’s Questions

What inspired you to start your blog?
I like writing, I like sims, why not combine the both into one super amazing blog?!

What is your favorite pastime?
I love reading, and I also love coming up with brand new things to do. IF I had to choose a favourite, it would probably be video gaming because I love all of the worlds that I can explore while sitting in the comfort of my chair. (Although, that doesn’t mean I don’t like travelling.)

How do you stay organized when you get ideas for your story? Paper and Pen? An App? Post-it notes? Other?
I usually either write them on a notepad document and save it in the story folder or I write them down on paper and pen and wait to incorporate it into my story.

How do you keep up with reading all of the blogs that you read?
Feedly, it’s awesome. It’s amazing.

When you write, do you prefer quiet or noise in the background?
Either, or. I don’t mind.

What do you rely on to bring you inspiration?
I don’t rely on inspiration, inspiration relies on me. Just kidding! I usually like looking at pictures and reading to bring on inspiration for some stories. Coffee also helps.

Quick, you’ve washed ashore on a very small deserted island with no escape with 3 Sims from any of your stories. Who are they and what would happen?
OH MY GOD. Okay, I’ll take Leliana Frenlore since she has a lot of skills, Noah Chung because we need an athlete to do the long distance running for us and finally, Maven Devine because we need a Goofball! Leliana would probably start by instructing everyone what they should be doing, Noah would be collecting supplies from high up trees and then cutting some down before replanting, Maven would be cracking jokes while helping building the house and Leliana would cook the food and I’d be exploring the island, mapping it out.

When did you start playing The Sims?
I started playing The Sims in 2007 with TS2 on the PS2.

Do you play non-simming games? If so, which ones?
I do play non-simming games! I play Dragon Age, The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Don’t Starve and Minecraft. Those are just a few!

Do you have a favorite Sim in your stories?
I don’t have a favourite sim, I love all of them!

If you could meet any one fictional character who would you pick?
Easy, Harry Potter.

Iheartdinox3’s Questions

What is the one Sim blog that you follow almost neurotically because you can’t wait for the next update?
The Pruett Family Legacy. I have an alarm which alerts me when a post goes up, because I’m like that.

What is your favorite Sim from any of your stories?
Like I said above, I don’t have a favourite sim, I love all of them!

How long did it take for you to get your blog up and running?
Well, probably a day! But, I’ve been improving my blog little by little throughout!

How long has your blog been up?
7 months and 10 days! Since the first chapter of The Wonder Child was put up!

About how long does it take for you to write a chapter for your story?
A day or two!

Where do you do most of your thinking?
On a word document on my computer in my bedroom or even in my living room. Always with coffee.

What’s your favorite food?
Cupcakes.

Do you play any games other than The Sims? If so what game are you working on finishing right now?
I do! I’m currently trying to finish Skyrim on the PC because mods and side quests got me distracted!

If you could choose any place to live in the world, where would it be?
America or maybe England. I like where I’m living now, but I know I’d like to live somewhere else when I’m older because I like the adventure.

If you could bring one of your Sims to real life, who would it be?
Adelaide Gibson, she seems like the perfect critique partner for my novel! xD

What is your favorite thing to do in your freetime?
RoryGilmore’s Question #2.

JordanNicoleJJ’s Questions

Who inspires you?
Oh wow. I’d say that one of my major inspirations for writing would be J.K Rowling because she really allowed me to open my mind up to fantasy and think of the fantastical worlds that are in my mind. Also, I think that many of the writers in SimLit are inspirational because of the way they write, it’s very powerful and very much something I want to adapt in my writing while still having my own style.

What is your favorite book genre and why?
Fantasy because your imagination runs wild while reading and you’re introduced to such vivid and amazing new worlds.

What is your all-time favorite piece of writing? (Can be a novel, poem, short story, SimLit story, anything.)
Easy, Harry Potter! More Specific? Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I think the emotions in that book were so powerful and the writing was perfect for the ending of an epic book series.

Who is your all-time favorite fictitious character? (Can be a Sim, or a character from a book, video game, movie, anything.)
NOW THIS IS HARD. I’m literally stuck between so many characters right now that it’s hard to pick one. So, I’ll say my top 3 in no particular order. Lara Croft, Hermione Granger and Magnus Bane!

What is your motivation to keep writing when you lose interest, or do you just stop writing?
I go through three phases when I start to lose interest in writing a chapter. First, I reread everything I’ve written and see if there’s something that’s making me less motivated, then I look through my screenshots and see if there’s anything that can make me motivated. If neither of those work then I take a step away from my chapter and come back to it later.

If you could live in any fantasy world, which would it be and why?
Another hard question! I would either like to live in Nirn (The Elder Scrolls) or Thedas (Dragon Age). It’s hard because the lore in both worlds is so well thought out and placed together so intricately that they’re both equally as interesting to explore!

If you could live anywhere in the real world, where would it be and why?
iheartdinox3’s Question #9.

Aside from Simming and writing, what are your hobbies?
RoryGilmore’s Question #2.

What music do you like to listen to when you write (if any)? What music to you like to listen to when you aren’t writing?
I like listening to a variety of music. Sometimes I like writing to music but then sometimes I don’t. I like listening to K-Pop with groups like SNSD, EXO, BTS and SHINee. I also like listening to other english-language groups such as Paramore, Muse, Echosmith, Daft Punk and more. 🙂

Are you detail-oriented or more of a “big picture” person? Does this affect or show up in your writing?
I think I’m more of a detail-oriented person since I like looking at my screenshots and analysing the heck out of them. It’s pretty fun because then I can write seamlessly when I type up the chapter!

How well do you balance “real life stuff” (work, school, other hobbies, etc.) with Simming and writing/reading SimLit? Any tips for those of us (me) who aren’t so well-balanced?
Is anyone REALLY balanced? I’m only lucky because I’m off with school but I haven’t even been able to read as much as I wanted to or read any SimLit consistently. I’m going to try and schedule posts days and hopefully weeks ahead in the future so that I can relax and read comfortably.

My Questions to my Nominees
  1. What inspired you to write?
  2. Coffee or Tea? Milk? How many sugars?
  3. What is the best moment you’ve had while playing any Sims game?
  4. What is your dream job?
  5. What do you like to do in your free time?
  6. Say the first word that comes to your mind after you read this word: “Plumbob”
  7. Name your top 5 pieces of fiction to read! (Novels, SimLit — I don’t mind!)
  8. If you could live in the world of Sims, what lot would you move into and how would you live?
  9. What’s one piece of advice you would offer to someone who’s new at writing SimLit?
  10. The Gods have spoken! You have to sacrifice one of your main characters from any of your stories. Who would you choose and why?
  11. Finally, why do you like writing SimLit?

Thank you for nominating me once again!

Conversations with… the Awesome Js

PART 1 | PART 2 | Part 3 | PART 4

01-06-06-15_11-46 PM

CT: So, what is it about Sims that connects? I mean, we’ve been able to–in a very short time–develop friendships with each other–and with many others on the forums and our readers (Oh, yoo-hoo! Readers! You know I love you and I’m talking about you!) that are such deep friendships!
How is that? How do Sims connect?

02-06-06-15_11-47 PM

Jes2G: I think it’s just like parenting. I’ve never been one, but I’ve noticed that parents love it when people love their children. I see them gravitating toward people who laud their children while shrinking away from those who criticize. Our Sims are our handy work. They’re our little digital children! So, when people love our Sims, we’re automatically drawn to them. And, just like proud parents love to speak about their children and brag on them, we love to speak about our Sims and tell whomever will listen about all the crazy stuff they do. Some of us *cough* (Joel) even get our “kids” together for “play dates” because he, I mean we, like for our “kids” to hang around with “kids” of the parents we like! And then…oh, I don’t know…those kids grow up and…oh, wait…we’re not there yet.

03-06-06-15_11-48 PM
Joel: Bahaha Jess! We were talking about that the other day, as to say we set up our “kids” on an arranged marriage. I feel that, especially with S-GAS, everyone got together and actually saw their sims connecting with other sims, so I feel that it was reflected upon the actual players as well.

I think that every player wants the best for their sim or “kid”, although everyone knows that everyone’s life is not perfect. Everyone will go through ups and downs, and they will go through upsetting times and I feel that’s why people are drawn to some sims. They are able to actually feel emotionally upset and become relatable to readers, but then something happy happens and cupcakes are shared around!

Sims can connect to Sims.
Readers can connect to other readers / the writer.
Sims can connect to Readers.

Relating back to earlier, if only you are willing to be open and accept the connection. I think that’s how Sims connect with each other!

CT: Oh, I think you’re right! It’s always interesting to me to see which Sims connect with each other, and which don’t! Sometimes there will be a Sim that I think looks very interesting–I would seek that Sim out for a friendship. But my Sims will not pursue a friendship with that Sim. And then sometimes, my Sim will choose for a friend–or even romantic interest–someone very different than who I would pick for them.

It’s not always as simple as trait compatibility–it has to do with the Sims’ background of experience, too. And also, there’s a certain energy there.
I notice, too, that some Sims will connect with me–or with my readers–and others not so much.
Aspen was amazing at connecting with me and with many readers.
And Willow–I’ve never had a friendship with a Sim like I did with Willow!

04-06-06-15_11-51 PM
Rosey: Yes! I agree with this completely–just like are Sims are drawn to certain other Sims for whatever reasons, we connect to each other for reasons and are drawn to certain people more so than others.

It’s not to say that I wouldn’t be open to other connections with other Simmers, because I absolutely am. I think, one of the great and mysterious things of life, is that the two people seeking connection have to be open to it at the same time. So, I know when I started interacting with Jess, I was really looking to find someone who I could see myself in and who enjoyed the things I enjoy. Like she said, we both thought we were each other’s long lost twins! We had (have!) so much in common and it was as though we both opened up to allow that friendship to start.

With Joel, it was more that he had questions about writing and his characters, so I was just there to help him. During those times, other things made their way into our talks and deepened our relationship.

What’s cool, though, are those moments when our Sims reflect each other. How many times, CT, have we both said something like, “Oh, Brandon and Salix seemed to struggling with relationships in such similar ways!” Or, “Generation five produced such strong females for both of us–Aspen and Peyton!”

I mean, those connections are so deeply important because they help us reflect on our own connections to them, and then to each other. What I find especially meaningful is that none of us have met in person, so the connections we build are simply the energy we put out into the world–our Sims are just products of our energy. We manifest in them pieces of ourselves and each other. How lovely is that?

05-06-06-15_11-52 PM
CT: Oooh! I love this topic of how our Sims seem to reflect each other and also our life themes.
Rosey, how many times have we discovered that something my Sims have been going through–especially the Boughs–is similar to what you’re going through or have gone through?

And JRose often seems to be expressing thoughts that I’ve had–or insights that are so useful to me! Her latest post is a great example of that. It was something I needed to hear–about connections and authenticity, actually–at exactly the time I needed to hear it.

It’s the same with Sims like Viv and Joel Rochdale, who often seem to express thoughts or perspectives that I can relate to.
This happens often with our friends and readers, I find! Certain themes seem to cycle through us and our stories and Sims. Remember back in January when we were all writing about mortality? (Gosh I miss RobFam, don’t you?)

Currently, many of us are writing about aliens, and I love how we’re portraying aliens in a similar manner–as kind outsiders, puzzled by inconsistencies and absurdities in present society. This is a topic that I want to have a conversation with BBQPenguinwings Trish about.

09-06-06-15_11-56 PM-2

Rosey: This might be a little off topic, but in my studies in leadership development and group dynamics, we often spoke about how when someone is feeling something–like, literally feeling in their bones so much so that they’re moved to display emotion–they’re often feeling it for the group. I remember, after I posted JRose’s Authenticity post and people commented on how meaningful it was for them, thinking. “Oh, I was holding this for the group! That’s why I was crying. That’s why I stuck! They group was working this post with and through me!”

That’s a crazy feeling! In a good way, of course, but still crazy.

CT: Oh! This is so inspiring for me! I really resonate with this. I think that there are several of us who do this, and we do it for each other. When we’re reading each other’s work so closely–really feeling it–it’s like we’re all surfing these themes about what it means to be alive here. So often when I play the game and when I write, I open myself up and simply express “what feels good”. By that, I mean that there’s this certain feeling I get when I write it, like this itch way down deep below my solar plexus has been itched. And often, I feel that that’s when the posts end up expressing this collective feeling or theme that’s circling through your group.

Rosey, thank you so much for writing that post and for opening yourself up to express what our group was wanting to look at!

Rosey: As for a theme that have really stood out for me–transition! Think about how many of us have started other stories with the main character as someone from a different story (RachelRosebud, Manda, Jess) and then add on top of it all of the people who have sent their Sims to different hard drives!
Then, if I recall, there are many of us who have touched upon the topic in our own stories with birthdays and deaths and the changing of generations. I think it’s a great topic that is always on our minds because we’re all forever in transition. It’s so amazing and often very prominent.

07-06-06-15_11-55 PM

Joel: Yes! I agree with you Rose :D
I feel that the common theme with most sims stories is life and death. Sims live and sims die but it’s the way that they live which inspires us, connects us and makes us one big family.

You could probably create a big chain in which one person’s sim has traveled to another person’s game where that person has also sent a sim over to another person as well! (If you get what I mean.) Everyone is connected by six degrees of separation and I think that works perfectly with Sims as well and there is that little bit of diversity within each sim that makes them an interesting or maybe dislikable character!
Also I have a feeling that a new theme coming up soon might be stories based in the new Sims town! (Which I can’t remember the name of…)

CT: Newcrest. I’m so excited for that by the way, and I do have a new game/new theme for that. It’ll be called “Rambles,” I think, and I really just want my SimSelf to run around and explore nature while I ramble on… Also, I think I’m going to be holding the Summer Camp for Sim kids there, too.
What are your plans for Newcrest, guys?

Joel: I’m going to follow the crowd and base a new story there! But, it’ll be a new challenge story. But first, I think I just want to explore it with my Simself and take everything in. If he likes Newcrest better, I’ll move him there. I’m just excited to see what everyone does with this free world!

08-06-06-15_11-56 PM
Jes2G: I have plans for Newcrest. Two, actually. One, these two know what it is, and I want to leave it a surprise for everyone else. All I’ll say is there will be another Pruett alternate reality story soon! The other idea someone here suckered, I mean encouraged me into to do another legacy story after the end of Pruett Family Legacy. It’s NOT gonna be a strict Pinstar legacy though. It’ll be a loooooong time before I do another one of those! I want to do a Differences in the Family Tree story. I didn’t want to dive right into another legacy, but it had been on my mind for a long time. And then when I found out about Newcrest, I got all kind of ideas! Then, of course, after speaking with a certain friend, it was clear that I had to do it. Thanks, friend. (cuts eyes at Jamie)

06-06-06-15_11-54 PM
Rosey: Don’t give me the stink eye, Jes2GetOutoftheCar! I gave you an option to do only half of that legacy–we never did finish talking about that, (goes to phone to open Skype). I, too, will be at least doing the Differences in Family Tree story, but after the pesky wedding and honeymoon that are clogging up my July schedule!

I also sort of have an affinity for Simon, one of my generation seven spares from The Skinner Saga. I’ll see what he’s like as he ages up more, but I want to do some sort of challenge or story with him, I just haven’t quite pinned down plans for that. AND (cuts eyes at Jess) I have a story that was offered to me for a character or two and am thinking about what to do with that.

Yikes, I need to figure out how to make blogging my full time job. Lol.

Liebster Award

image

As per usual, I was reading Jes2G’s blog to see if there was anything I could catch up on and I saw ‘Liebster Award’. I instantly thought, “Hey that’s familiar!” and I clicked on it! After reading through, it seems that I’ve been nominated for this prestigious award… once again ;). Now, I received this award last time on an old book review blog that I did with my friend, but it ultimately came to an end when we both became super busy. But, maybe I’ll start it up again one day.

If you’re unsure on what the Liebster Award is, it’s basically an award given to bloggers by other bloggers! ‘Liebster’ is the German word for ‘favourite’ so the nominator is basically saying that ‘this blog is my favourite’! And so, I thank Jes2G for her nomination and I am honored to be nominated by such a talented writer!

Now upon receiving this award, I have to do four things!

  1. Post the award on my blog! – That’s done 🙂
  2. Thank the blogger who presented the award and link back to their blog! – That’s done too!
  3. Nominate 5-11 bloggers whom you feel deserve this award.
  4. Answer 11 questions posted by the nominator, and ask your nominees 11 questions.

Choosing nominees, now that is a challenge! I will try not to nominate the same people Jes2G has since I don’t want to plague them with questions… but I would like to say that they are some of my favourite blogs too :D! My nominees are:

  1. Dougsbaby12
  2. FloorRaisin
  3. JordanNicoleJJ
  4. lovesstorms
  5. Anyone else who wants this award 😉

Technically I broke the rules, but rules are meant to be broken! Now, I will proceed onto answering the questions Jes2G has asked me.

1. If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
It probably would be Chicken Ramen since I can eat that all day and all night. Plus, it makes me feel extremely full which is a bonus!

2. Can you write with music on?
Yep! I have this special writing playlist which is full of music which helps me concentrate on writing. So I can.

3. How/Why did you begin blogging?
I began blogging because it was a creative outlet for me. It allowed me to express my writing but also my inner thoughts and feelings to other people, even ones I hadn’t even met. I also began blogging because I wanted to know what people thought about my writing and to see if I could become more confident in my own ability to write. And, if I did become more confident, I would pursue publishing a book I feel confident in (although that hasn’t arrived yet. Even though I’ve written many stories, I feel that they are steps towards ‘that novel’).

4. Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
I used to think that I was introverted, but recently I feel that I do enjoy the company of others but I also enjoy my own company time to time. So, can I say I’m in between the two?

5. Describe your dream vacation.
My dream vacation would start off with me flying to Taiwan, and enjoying all of the delicacies there before taking a ship to China where I would walk along the Great Wall of China for a little while before getting off and going to Shanghai where I would be able to see all of the authentic Chinese cultures and customs! Afterwards, I would fly to Tokyo, Japan and buy A LOT of stuff to do with Anime / Manga, for example, Pokémon and Fairy Tail. I would also go to the Tokyo Tower and have dinner there before flying off to South Korea, where I would spend an ENTIRE WEEK there! I would be in Seoul, where I will be able to go to the various districts like Gangnam and be able to shop and also enjoy all the sights. On my final day, I will also go to Namsan Tower where I will be able to have dinner where one of my favourite K-Dramas took place, and I’d also be able to seal my love if I went with someone 😛
Oh wow, this answer is long!

6. So… you’re a famous author now. What’s your life like?
I think, when I become a famous author (because I hope I will!), my life would focus on writing more stories plus I would also be focusing on studying as well. I guess I would also be busy with book signings and such, but I would like to write a lot more should I become a famous author, and I would love to keep publishing books should I become a famous author. (Maybe I can write a long book series xD)

7. Mac or Windows?
I’ve only used Windows, so I’m not sure what a Mac is like. So… Windows 🙂

8. Summer or Winter?
My favourite out of the two would probably be Winter, since they do amazing beverages at Starbucks around this time. Plus, it’s the perfect excuse to stay in at home and write!

9. What is your least favourite household chore?
Laundry. I think everyone hates doing Laundry.

10. If you could be any character from a book or movie, who would you be?
There are so many to choose from! This isn’t fair! If I had to choose one though, it would be Harry Potter because who doesn’t want to be an orphan who suddenly discovers he has magical powers and then faces against the powers of darkness that try to kill him because of a prophecy that states he will end all of the darkness? YES PLEASE!

11. Does it bother you that there are 11 questions and not 10? 🙂
Not at all!

Now here are my 11 questions for my nominees!

  1. What inspired you to write in the first place?
  2. What one item would you take with you if you were stranded on a deserted island?
  3. What’s your favourite tv show to date?
  4. How are you feeling today?
  5. Do you play non-simming games? If so, what ones?
  6. It’s Saturday Night and you’ve been invited to a party. What’s the first thing you think about? (E.G What to wear, how to get there etc.)
  7. What’s your lucky number?
  8. If you could be any animal, which one would you be and why?
  9. How many books do you own?
  10. What’s the last dream you remember?
  11. Odd number equals odd question. Spots or Stripes?

Q&A with SummerFalls #1

Following the questions I’ve received on THIS page, I’ll be answering the ones I have received so far! Don’t worry if you haven’t submitted a question yet, you can still submit one and I’ll make another post like this once I get enough 🙂

1. What is the meaning of SummerFalls?
Well, it’s actually the title of my first ever short story that I had ever written. It was about a battle between the seasons of Summer and Winter and that Summer will fall and Winter will rise and conquer all. (My WordPress Username is WinterRises 😉 )

2. What is your favorite path to walk along?
I do enjoy walking along this path in the park near my house, it’s quiet most days and I become surrounded by nature. Birds fly from tree to tree while squirrels scurry around and climb. However, my favourite thing is that the seats along the path are made of logs, so you can sit down and feel one with nature, and plus it’s one of my favourite places to gather ideas.

3. What’s the most recent book you’ve read that changed your view of yourself or of the world?
Just after Christmas, I reread the Fault in Our Stars by John Green and while reading it the second time, I felt that I should be living my life to the fullest and doing everything I can before it ends. Also, I learnt from this book that the world can be cruel but also kind at the same time, it’s weird.

4&5. Do you have a certain time when you write? Do you need to feel inspired to write, or can you write at any time?
I usually write during the night because I feel more focused then, but I do need to feel inspired to write otherwise I’ll be writing for a very long time which will take away some of my sleep! (even though I don’t sleep as much as I should.)

6. What non-Sim writing projects are you currently working on or do you have planned for the near future?
Currently, I’m editing my first novel which I wrote in November 2013 and that’s The Hunter & The Hunted, and soon after I hope to edit my November 2014 novel which is The Infected Reality (working title). Both novels are standalones from each other but can be expanded into a series. ALSO, I’ve been currently planning my November 2015 novel which is called Eden.

7. What is your favorite color/food/animal?
My favourite colors are Red, Blue & Purple, I can’t pick just one since they’re all amazing. My favourite food would have to be Chicken Ramen from the restaurant that I go to literally every weekend. Finally, my favourite animal would have to be a panda, they’re just too cute!

8. Do you have any pets? And tell us a little about them if you do.
I do not own any pets 😦 I haven’t really felt the need to have a pet, but if any of my siblings wanted a pet, I wouldn’t be against it.

9.What is your all time favorite fictional character?
For the longest time, I felt that my favourite fictional character was Harry Potter. However, after reading so many books, I feel that one of my favourite fictional characters is Daenerys Targaryen because she is the Mother of Dragons! Harry Potter obviously still being one of my favourite fictional characters, he is joined by Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore (I remember his full name!). APWB Dumbledore is such an inspirational man, and the actor that played him in the films (now I don’t know this name), did such an amazing job in portraying his character.

Thank you for your questions! 😀

Inspiration

There are many things which inspire us in the world today. May it be something you see on the Internet, or something someone does or says to you, something does inspire us all now an again. Inspiration helps us work, it makes our work better and it makes us feel happier while doing said work.

Recently, S-GAS has inspired people to create more stories and content for the blogs and games, and I find it interesting and amazing to see how one idea can cause inspiration for a lot of people. Even I’ve been inspired by S-GAS to start my brand new story which has been in the works! It’s not a legacy story, but something else.

The mind is an amazing thing, it can take ideas from multiple places and form a mega-awesome idea from all those smaller ideas. I think that’s how inspiration works, you see something or hear something and you’re instantly inspired to do something!

In The Sims 4, we see inspiration all the time when our sims are inspired. Getting inspired is easy, as Sims can take a shower, they can look things up on the Internet or watch the television! Or they can use emotional aura’d objects with a inspiration aura. I feel this is somewhat reflective in real life, as we are inspired by a lot of different resources.

For me, my sims are inspired by many different situations which in turn, inspires my writing. Sims have this natural ability to get themselves in such a mess, or such a good place that inspiration literally leaks from their pixels at the potential of a good story. Leliana Frenlore normally would get inspired by those Inspiration Potions, but sometimes, she gets inspired by having conversations with Orion and Athena.

Inspiration spreads. After one person is inspired, it is as contagious as a cold. It spreads and spreads until everyone is inspired in one way or another. People can work together to create new things with their inspiration, an example is S-GAS! Also, people can be inspired by S-GAS to create their own events and its magical!

Inspiration is a magical feeling, it feels amazing when you have it and you feel MORE amazing when you’ve completed a project thanks to your inspiration. We should try to get inspired more often, take a couple of minutes a day reading stories or even look at buildings or people to inspire characters, buildings or even plot lines.

Inspiration is something everyone needs once in a while.

Thanks for listening to one of my thoughts again 🙂 If you like this, you can even give your own view of Inspiration in a blog post and I’ll link it down below so people can view all the views!

Lonerism – Weirdness – Normalcy

Hey everyone! This is not Leliana Frenlore, or even SummerFalls but Joel! Yes, Joel the actual human is writing on this blog, it’s a surprise right? Recently, there’s been some chatter amongst individuals (including myself) in the Stories and Legacies forum about Lonerism, introversion and the weirdness of things.

I’d like to give my view on this topic, but you know, I’m probably just going to ramble so I apologize beforehand.

First of all, let me give you the definitions of both extraversion and introversion as Jes2G provided for us!

“Extraversion – Our energy moves toward the outer world of people, places and things; the world outside of us.

Introversion – Our energy moves toward the inner world of thoughts and ideas; the world inside of us.”

As a 15 year old, generally I would be an extravert, who would move my energy towards the outer world of people. However, because I aspire to write and be someone who is creatively amazing, I tend to be an introvert myself.

I often tend to focus my ‘energy’ into myself, and my ideas become much more expanded and they create their own worlds and ideas. Being a writer, my worlds have expanded and grown so much, and my thoughts have become more developed and more genius as the years go by. Would I trade that to be an extravert? Never.

When I write for the Sims, I allow my emotions to become a part of my gameplay. I also allow my thoughts and ideas weave stories that I could possibly have never imagined if I was an extravert. With empathy and imagination as parts of my gameplay, they become the vital sources of my story. I’m able to become bonded with these sims, and I’m able to think and feel for them. I’m able to think how this Sim thinks and I’m able to have them show me and teach me many things.

Playing the Sims has taught me so many things, about myself and about other people. The way Sims socialize with each other is pretty smart, they chatter and they build a relationship bar. If only life was that simple. However, with some people it’s not. (yeah, I’m going off on a tangent.) I’m able to reflect upon my own life from playing the Sims, and they inspire me to make my own life better.

Being Introverted is awesome, I’m allowed to change and make myself into a better person, without having outside forces influencing me. I am very emotional, and that helps a lot when it comes to writing and it helps develop an amazing story for Sims.

Now I’m onto the second topic that I want to talk about. Normalcy and Weirdness.

What is Normal exactly? Is there a definition?

Something that is Weird or something that is Normal is all based on one’s opinion of what exactly is normal and weird. But, if everything was normal, the world would be plain and boring in my opinion. In contrast, if everything was weird, the world would be too freaky to live in. There has to be a balance between normal and weird.

In my opinion, I am weird. I can be who I want to be and I can be special in my own way. As long as it’s okay with myself, I am happy with who I am.  And when I’m not happy with myself, my introversion will take over and make myself better and even more awesome.

Everyone has a certain weirdness about them I think. But, I don’t think that it should be thought as a weirdness exactly, but as a gift that is given to you by a higher power. (very open ended depending on religion and such) And we can express this gift in any way that we want to, may it be writing, singing, dancing or any other stuff. Our gifts define who we are and we should celebrate that!

In conclusion, I believe that we’re all defined by certain things. We could be weird or normal, we could be introverted or extraverted, we could be anything. As long as we are okay with ourselves, we can be whoever or whatever we want.

Also, we all have our super power (as said by Big Sis!), and we should use that super power to make our lives, and our world a much happier place. And, as part of the Story-Simmer Community, I hope to use my superpower of Weirdness, Introversion and Amazing Cuteness to make our home a more amazing place.

APOLOGIES IF I HAVEN’T ACTUALLY TOUCHED THE TOPIC. MY MIND HAS A HABIT OF GOING OFF ON THOUGHTS AND I MIGHT NOT HAVE ACTUALLY SAID ANYTHING VALUABLE.
